Just got back from doing my act at the comedy club. Yowza, I was gooood! My stand-up comedy teacher told me my act was one of the best he's seen. I don't know if meant one the best open mike acts or one of the best student acts, or one of the best acts period. It doesn't matter, it was fun. The MC also came up to me and told me that the material about my white girl friend was dynamite and that I should expand on it. B who came with me was pleased and touched about being in my act.

People laughed at almost every place I wanted them to laugh. Just one joke bombed (the one about having trouble making small talk at speed dating).

I'm a 24 year old "single" mother who lives with her boyfriend, and, consequently, father of our son.  We live in a small town full of narrow-minded folks.  I'm outspoken, liberal, and a "guy's girl."  I like my hockey bloody and my beer from Canada.  I'm an unrespected "Front Office Manager" at a major hotel chain.  My job is not a career.  It was a wrong turn at the fork in the parenting road.  I chose to take a responsible route and get promoted to support my new family.

It took two people to man the suicide buses. One was the driver, usually male, often with teeth stained brown from chewing beetle nuts. Some drivers ground their teeth. Others rocked manically back and forth. They all drove fast. One late night bus ride home I watched the speedometer climb to 75 mph. That night we also ran two red lights and took a quick detour down the bike lane. It’s not surprising that most of these buses had dents or bent fenders. The suicide buses never seemed to heed traffic laws, but then neither do most of Haikou’s vehicular traffic.

but, my room is clean, and i did it without wearing a mask.  thank you very much.  ironic, that i was cleaning because of an ocd attack, and then almost killed myself with the disinfectant spray.  i took the bus to buy supplies and i sat and listened to david crowder.  i love the way people all sway together on the bus.  they pretend as if no one else exists, but it's made clear by the way we all move together like the hair of some organism, floating along together, rubbing arms and tapping each other to get past.

Meteorites freckle the ground, dry like a desolate psoriasis on the face of California. The air cracks my sinuses until they bleed. Sand blows for miles in every direction. Mountains crumble to pieces in the distance.
