It has come to the management's attention that there is some dissatisfaction within the ranks about the moniker "Unlogged visitor" that appears in the comments of those sad souls that won't take the measly 2 minutes that are required to register and pick a nice name for themselves.

hmmm yes. hadn't really thought about it, but perhaps "unlogged visitor" has sort of an "illegal alien" ring to it.

perhaps that's just the sort of thing we should be worried about here. we should be working on building a great electrified wall around motime to keep out the undesirables. unlogged visitors are probably reaping all our benefits -- stealing our ideas for blog posts -- probably trying to take over motime and make it their own!

i say block everyone until they've passed a literacy test, paid their dues, and had all their vaccinations.

circle the wagons, people. praise the lord and pass the ammunition.

you're the only one who understood the strategy! i guess we need to be more direct, huh?

(just joking, for anyone who may not understand that we just a sarcastic bunch of happy bloggers... come one and come all, unlogged, illegal or just bored.)

Somewhat off topic...

Comments don't show in the preview field if they begin with quotes; I wonder how many legit comments I've killed because I could not determine their spamminess.

I also noticed that spam attacks mostly a group of 4 to 5 month-old articles. I bet you could cut spam down immensely simply by allowing comments to be turned off on individual posts, or set some kind of sunset parameter whereby after some time only Motimers are allowed to comment.

Will pass the quote mark thing on to the developers to look into. On spam in general, there are few ideas kicking around -- the problem for me is fighting for the resources to get it done. Mo'time is a very small place that was brought into a much bigger company with other properties, so it is simply a question of just getting someone to OK getting this done. I *am* doing what I can. I know it's been too long in coming; sorry 'bout that.

Dear Howard,

Remember when Mo'Time just began and we were a relatively small group of diehard bloggers?

You are doing a fantastic job. So glad I got to know you before you got too busy to hang out more often. I am satisfied with the occasional foray of your wonderful self into our blogs, don't get me wrong, but those were the good ole days.

*hugs*

I like the "Mo'nonymous"!

I don't like the hockey mask avatar, though. It makes Motime look full of serial killers.

Yeah, the face-covering thing is far from friendly. But it's a combination of hockey and Hallowe'en ... one is the scariest time of the year, and the other is a pagan holiday.

Go for it, Pookie. Come up with a November avatar.
